Hintok Cutting is another cutting built by forced labour during the war, a few kilometres west of Hellfire Pass. Without transport, one is able to walk between the two along the old track bed of the railway and making arrangements for memorial staff to collect you. Arriving by road, it is just a short walk to the cutting. Here there are some of the original railway sleepers. At the far end is a ravine which would have been traversed by a teakwood bridge. You will also find evidence here of Allied bombing towards the later part of the war.
