This Church was established by Patriarch John Baptist Prodom in 1913. However, construction was halted in August 1914 at the start of World War I but continued to completion in 1919. In 1939 the church was extended to become a delightful gothic structure with its twin towers and decorative gateway in front. Most of its furnishings and equipment was transported by barge from Saigon. Sadly, in October 1940, the Franco-Thai War broke out and the church was completely destroyed by shelling.
