Wat Tai Yor, Ko Yo, Mueang Songkhla District

Wat Tai Yor has some unusual buildings that would not look out of place in Tudor England. The monks live in delapidated quarters that suggest that this is the way things were. They have survived the race to rebuild and modernise and have a charm and character rarely found in Thailand these days. A preservation undertaking is called for here. Common though, is a starcase leading a chedi at the top of a hill to the rear (not visited).
