Wat Pa Hai Long, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

The history of Wat Pa Hai Long dates from 1939 when a small temple known as ‘Temple of the Mountain’ was built. Subsequently named Wat Kloy Set it fell into disuse in 1963 when the government expropriated the surrounding land. However, in 2002 permission was granted for a monestry to be built in its place. Although the building was finished in 2009, further work has been carried out ever since. Located on a mountain top, it can be seen for miles around and at sunrise there are stunning views from the summit.
