The massive Lam Pao Reservoir is the principal natural feature of northern Kalasin province effectively cutting it in half. Heading west from Highway 227 near the Sirindhorn Museum is the Thepsuda Bridge, one of the options to avoid a one-hour drive. It connects both sides of the reservoir east/west. Here is an amazing view of the reservoir particularly at sunset. The storage capacity of the reservoir is 1,430 million cubic metres providing for flood protection, agriculture and fishing.
