Wat Khao Wang is located at the base of Khao Wang Hill not to be confused with the Royal Temple complex. It probably existed before the Phra Nakhon Khiri Palace was built by King Rama IV (mid 19th Century). It is home to a large monkey troop which descends to feed in the daytime.
