Phra Mahathamaracha Phra Wisutthikasat
Royal Palace, Phitsanulok

Phra Mahathamaracha Phra Wisutthikasat Royal Palace is located on the east bank of the Nan River next to Wat Nang Phraya in Nai Mueang, Mueang Phitsanulok district and next to Wat Nang Phaya. The latter deserves a mention due to its historical significance. It was built in the early Ayutthaya period during the reign of Somdej Phra Borom Trai Locanat (1448-1488). This temple is featured in the Religious section of this site.

The feature of the royal palace is the standing statues of the royal family with King Naresuan himself and includes his younger brother Ekathotsarot, known as the "White Prince", and an elder sister, Suphankanlaya, their combined effort sufficient to expel the Burmese and declare independence for the nation.
