Wat Sri Sukhot is located to the southwest outside of the Chan Royal Palace. This ancient temple comprises the main stupa built in a bell shape, four small stupas on each corner, and a viharn looking east. To the south of the viharn is an ubosot with the first and second layers of the base remaining.
The excavation reveals both architectural and archeological evidence indicating that Wat Sri Sukhot was probably built prior to the construction of Chan Royal Palace. Later when the construction of the palace was managed, the temple was repaired at the same time. The temple is assumed to have been built around the 15th/16th Century before the reign of King Naresuan the Great.
