Ban Pong Nak is located within the grounds of 32nd Army Military Circle, Surasak Montri Camp, Pichai District, Muang Lampang. Ban Pong Nak translates as a building with windows referring to the style which is European around the turn of the century 1900. The building is preserved as a heritage house with military/war interest. Obviously the museum contains a good selection of military weapons and hardware from many nations; pride of place is a heavy WW1 Vickers machine gun. However there is an additional reason for a visit to Ban Pong Nak as two former Thai Kings stayed in this building during official visits. It probably was used by visiting high ranking officials too. Several rooms have been preserved here with furnishings from those times.
