Wat Thung Peung (field of bees) is signposted on the right of highway 101 travelling north in the village of Thung Chang in northern Nan Province. The sign points to a 700 year old Buddha. The temple consists of a vihara and small chedi but at the time of visit a new sanctuary was being built presumably to house the 700 year old relic. The Buddha image presently resides in the vihara and is considered precious enough to be enclosed and suspended from the temple roof. The altar contains a beautiful emerald Buddha image. The age of the temple is unknown and style Lanna (presumed).
