Wat Phu Thap Boek is located in the Hmong village, Ban Thap Boek. At the mountain summit, opposite the Phu Hin Rong Khla National Park entrance on local road No 2331, a road traverses the ridge leading to the village. The temple can now be identified from the summit viewpoint on a promontory further along the ridge due to the construction of new pagoda. When completed it will be further enhance the popularity of the area offering merit making and meditation. With increasing numbers of visitors, donations for the construction are financing the project while the existing temple is a modest affair. The pagoda is being constructed on a square base with multiple tiers. Strangely visitors have unrestricted access to the construction site. However, after the pagoda has been consecrated, there will be no general access to the upper tiers.
