Ban Bo Suak village
|
Name: Ban Bo Suak village
Location: southwest of Nan
Style: Pottery production
Photo dated: 27th November 2014
Ban Bo Suak can be reached from highway 101, just south of Nan city, by taking the local road 1025. At a crossroads after 7kms, a left fork leads to the village, another 4kms. The village is the location of ancient kilns dating back to the 15th century. The ancient kiln site is already featured on this tour but Ban Bo Suak village receives a separate entry due to more recent activity associated with pottery production. At a road junction in the village, modern kilns today produce ceramics of contemporary design available for sale to visitors therefore maintaining the tradition.
