The Khao Kho Wildlife Captive Breeding Centre, Phetchabun (Khao Kho Open Zoo) covers an area of 20 square kilometres in Khao Kho Sub-district, Sado Phong Sub-district and Nong Mae Na Sub-district in Khao Kho District. It can be reached from Highway No. 2196 running through Khao Kho taking the Highway No. 2325 heading west for 5 km. The zoo is signposted on the left-hand side. As well as being an open zoo, it is a research and breeding centre of wildlife in Khao Kho which is operated by the Wildlife Conservation Office, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Flora in accordance with the Royal Initiative of Their Majesties the King and the Queen. It also acts as refuge and rehabilitation for wildlife rescued from poachers.
Wildlife bred and propagated at the centre include mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians.
