The Yang River is a tributary of the River Nan, a minor river with its source in Doi Phukha National Park in eastern Nan Province. From there it flows west through Tha Wang Pha district in northern Nan Province crossing Highway 101 before converging with the Nan River flowing south. There is evidence that the river provided a source of energy for mining in the area.
