The Chao Phraya River is the major river in Thailand, with its low alluvial plain forming the centre of the country. It flows through Bangkok and then into the Gulf of Thailand. In Bangkok it allows for easy transport of people by ferry and goods by barge and is always busy. Numerous ferry piers exist with a connection for example across river from Tha Tian to Wat Arun Pier. Tha Tian is a stop for Chao Phraya express boats.
