Thung Yi Peng Ecotourism Village is located on the east of Ko Lanta Yai, 7 kilometres from the Sala Dan Pier with a road built to the Ban Thung Yi Pheng Tourist Service Center It is a Muslim community who settled down 100 years ago. The Village was named after To Yi Pheng, an ancestor who came to reside in this village. People in the village make a living from local fishery and rubber plantations. The surrounding area is covered with mangrove forest that is rich in many aquatic animals; such as, river snails, blood cockles and black crabs. Community tourism activities include a nature trail for studying the mangrove forest, kayaking, sailing on a traditional paddle boat, mangrove forest sightseeing and observing fish raising in a floating basket by the locals. Accommodation in resorts and homestays are available.
