31st: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN15 Moved to High Bay - SN11 Wreckage....view. Starship SN15, with "100s of design improvements" per Elon, rolled out to the High Bay for aero surface installation tasks. Clean-up operations continue for SN11....What next?
30th: SpaceX Boca Chica - The "Mystery Structure" Gains a Nosecone....view. The "Mystery Structure" has a nosecone lifted inside its cage, potentially to be used as a test rig. Meanwhile BN1 will be scrapped and Starship SN11 launches but fails during the landing maneuver.
--do-- SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN11 Explodes During Failed Landing in the Fog....view. Starship SN11 took flight in the dense fog but failed to make a successful landing shortly after registering low chamber pressure on the #2 Raptor engine. An upgraded Starship, SN15, is planned to roll out in the coming weeks.
28th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Super Heavy BN3 section spotted....view. As Starship SN11 awaits launch, the Forward Dome Section for Super Heavy Prototype BN3 has been spotted at the Production Site.
27th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Integration Tower Prepared for Concrete Pour....view. As Starship SN11 undergoes additional checkouts ahead of flight, crews waste no time preparing the Orbital Launch Site for its next concrete pour. Meanwhile, Super Heavy parts are spotted in an out of the tents at the Production Site.
26th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Vehicle Transporters Have Weights Installed for Upcoming Move....view. Two connected Transporters have weights installed. These are typically added prior to a large vehicle move. Meanwhile, Starship SN11 scrubs its flight attempt for further checkouts.
--do-- SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN11 Single Engine Static Fire (Raptor SN46)....view. Starship SN11 static fires Raptor SN46. However, SpaceX scrubbed Friday's 10km flight attempt to allow for additional checkouts.
25th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN11 Prepared for Static Fire & First Flight....view. Alerts have been issued to residents stating that Starship SN11 will perform a static fire and hopefully a 10km flight as early as March 26th. Meanwhile Starship SN15's nosecone sections are outside, potentially for static operations.
24th: SpaceX Boca Chica - New GSE Tank Dome Sleeved - SN16 Aft Section Spotted....view. A new GSE dome, presumably for the orbital tank farm, was sleeved today. SN16's aft section was spotted, and work around the site continued unabated.
23rd: SpaceX Boca Chica - Super Heavy BN1 Moved in the High Bay....view. Super Heavy BN1 was moved to the rear corner of the High Bay. After the move, crews hoisted sections of the new bridge crane up to the roof. SpaceX will use that crane to stack future Starship and Super Heavy Sections.
22nd: SpaceX Boca Chica - Aerocovers for New Starship Delivered - SN11 in Good Shape after Static Fire....view. Starship SN11 looks to be in good shape after an early morning static fire. Its flight test could occur later this week. Meanwhile, aerocovers for a new Starship were delivered to the Production Site.
--do-- SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN11 Static Fire Test....view. Starship SN11 fires up its Raptor engines ahead of its test flight. This was the second static fire attempt for SN11, following an aborted attempt on March 15th.
21st: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN11 Fires its RCS Thrusters....view. Starship SN11 fires its thrusters in preparation for flight after the next static fire test. That test is currently scheduled for no earlier than Monday March, 22nd. Meanwhile, the blunt nosecone is stacked onto a new ring section.
20th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN11 Wiggles all of its Flaps....view. As Starship SN11's next static fire attempt approaches, crews are testing all of its systems to ensure it is ready to fly. Meanwhile Tankzilla remains attached to Super Heavy BN1 in the High Bay.
19th: SpaceX Boca Chica - GSE Tank 1 Stacked - Flap Installed on New Nosecone....view. A ground support equipment (GSE) tank for the orbital launch pad tank farm was stacked at the production site on Friday. The orbital tank farm is expected to feature several tanks of this size. Meanwhile, a flap was attached to a new nosecone.
18th: SpaceX Boca Chica - SpaceX stacks first Super Heavy, creating largest rocket booster ever built....view. For the first time ever, SpaceX has stacked a Super Heavy tank section to its full height, effectively completing assembly of the largest rocket booster ever built....What next?
--do-- SpaceX Boca Chica - Orbital Launch Site progresses, crane preps for Super Heavy booster stacking....view. SpaceX continues to make rapid progress on the Orbital Launch Site ahead of an orbital launch attempt scheduled for later this year. Additionally, the large crane – unofficially nicknamed "Tankzilla" – continued preparations to stack Super Heavy BN1.
17th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Bridge Crane for the High Bay arrives - Starship SN11 Waits....view. The new Bridge Crane for the High Bay has arrived for installation at SpaceX Boca Chica. This will be utilized on Starship nosecone mates and the stacking of Super Heavy boosters. Meanwhile, Starship SN11 is waiting for its next Static Fire attempt.
16th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN18 Aft & Engine Section Mated - Mystery Poles Attached to Structure....view. As the nosecone production tent is expanded, SpaceX mated SN18's aft & engine section. Meanwhile, crews attach poles to a new structure and preparations for SN11's next static fire attempt are underway.
15th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN11 Abort Static Fire - SN7.2 Moved to the Production Site....view. Starship SN11 aborts its first static fire as the engines ignite. SpaceX hopes to retry the test no earlier than March 16th. Meanwhile, Tankzilla and SN7.2 are moved back to the production site.
14th: SpaceX Boca Chica - SN11 Ready for Next Static Fire Attempt....view. Starship SN11 is prepared for its next static fire attempt. Static fire is the final test before SN11 is ready to fly. Meanwhile, crews work on Test Tank SN7.2, potentially preparing it for another pressure test, and Super Heavy BN1’s methane tank has a work platform installed for LOX tank stacking.
13th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Thermal Protection Tiles Installed on New Aft Skirt....view. Workers installed thermal protection system tiles on a new aft skirt section (serial number unknown), Plumbing at the Orbital Tank Farm underwent X-Ray inspections, and work preparing Starship SN11 for testing and flight continued.
12th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Super Heavy BN1 Methane Tank Stacked on Engine Section....view. SpaceX gets closer to completing the first Super Heavy Booster, BN1, as its methane tank is stacked on its engine section. Meanwhile propellant and consumables are delivered to the launch site in preparation for static fire and launch.
11th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN11 Tests Tanks Under Flight Pressures - Fires RCS Thrusters....view. Starship SN11 undergoes a cryogenic proof test using liquid nitrogen, ensuring its tanks can hold up to flight temperatures and pressures. Also tested are SN11's reaction control system (RCS) thrusters.
--do-- SpaceX Boca Chica - Super Heavy Prepared BN1 for Stacking - Team Celebrates a Great Year....view. Super Heavy BN1 stacking appears to be imminent. Lead-ins and a work platform are installed on the aft section to align the upper tank sections when lifted into place. Also the SpaceX team celebrates a year of huge accomplishments with a fireworks show!
10th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Orbital Launch Site's Tank Farm Takes Shape....view. SpaceX is installing propellant and consumables storage tanks at the Orbital Launch Site in preparation for full stack testing later this year. Starship SN11 survived its first ambient temperature pressure tests. This is the first test to certify it for flight.
9th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Preparations for Super Heavy test campaign....view. With Starship SN11 at the launch site, Super Heavy BN1 now has the High Bay to itself. A Thrust Ram rig is being prepared, potentially for use with BN1 testing.
8th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN11 Rolls Out to the Launch Pad....view. Starship SN11 rolls out to the launch pad prior to beginning its test campaign. With Starship SN10 getting so close to a perfect flight, SN11 looks to be the vehicle that will finally nail the landing maneuver.
7th: SpaceX Boca Chica - SN20 Leg Skirt Spotted - BN1 Booster Double Section Lifted Onto New Stand....view. SN18 and SN20 leg skirts were spotted by Mary, BN1 Booster Double Section was lifted onto the new heavy duty stand, SN11 was prepped for rollout, and the work continues on infrastructure at the launch site.
6th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Raptor SN58 Delivered - SN10 Wreckage Scrapped....view. Raptor Engine SN58 was delivered, with "Much Land, When Box" written on it, a new dome was sleeved, GSE 1 Fwd Fuel Dome was moved out of Tent 1, and the LR1600/2 "Tankzilla" Crane was moved next to Suborbital Pad B ahead of SN11's arrival at the launch site.
5th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN11 Rollout Preparations are in Place....view. With crane "Tankzilla" moved to the launch site and LN2 refilled at the tank farm, workers button up Starship SN11 for rollout to the pad. Meanwhile, a new Raptor engine shows up at the production site.
4th: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN10's Wreckage Cleaned Up....view. Cleanup of Starship SN10's wreckage begins as crews prepare to rollout SN11 to the launch site. Meanwhile the GSE-2 Aft LOX dome is sleeved at the production site.
3rd: SpaceX Boca Chica - SpaceX nails Starship landing, but rocket explodes minutes later....view. The latest prototype of SpaceX’s Starship launch vehicle Starship SN10 took off from the company’s South Texas test site and flew to an altitude of more than 30,000 feet Wednesday, then descended to a controlled vertical landing after two previous test vehicles crashed at touchdown. Minutes later, the 16-story test rocket exploded in a fireball, but the test flight appeared to be a major step forward in the early stages of the Starship program.
2nd: SpaceX Boca Chica - Starship SN5 Completely Scrapped....view. Starship SN10's test flight is set to occur no earlier than March 3rd! Roadblock and evacuation notices are in place, fingers crossed SN10 sticks the landing! Meanwhile crews prepare the Orbital Site for more concrete.
