February 2021 -
27th: SpaceX Falcon Heavy booster spotted at Texas rocket testing HQ....view. Three weeks after the building-sized rocket was spotted on its way to Texas, SpaceX’s next new Falcon Heavy ‘center core’ has gone vertical at the company’s rocket testing headquarters.
15th: SpaceX planning launch of two Falcon Heavy missions in summer and fall....view. SpaceX plans two Falcon Heavy launches this year for the U.S. Space Force in July and October. The Falcon Heavy missions, USSF-44 and USSF-67 are expected to be the fourth and fifth flights of SpaceX’s triple-core heavy-lifter. Both launches will take off from pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
September 2020 -
24th: SpaceX Falcon Heavy side booster arrives at Texas test facilities....view. This is the first of 3 new rocket components to be used on the USSF 44 mission. Another side booster and a centre core will follow. The USSF does not allow flight reusable hardware but it's not yet clear whether the boosters can be recovered for other missions. Falcon Heavy last flew on 25 June 2019 and side boosters were recovered but to date no centre core has survived a flight.
The next launch is scheduled for 28 February 2021. A SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket will launch the USSF 44 mission for the U.S. Air Force. The mission is expected to deploy two undisclosed payloads into geosynchronous orbit.
