The game at Uthai Thani Provincial Stadium kicks of at 7.00 pm with the home team kicking from right to left, the reverse for the coverage from the stand opposite. There are few early chances as Chiang Rai try to keep out the hosts but in the 31st minute they crack. Thai forward Chakkit Laptrakul gets to the goal line and despite a challenge, whips in a low cross and there waiting is Brazilian Ricardo Santos who lunges at the ball, his header flashing past the Chiang Rai keeper. A goal had been coming and there are more worries for the visitors as the ball finds the back of the net again but Columbian Jhonatan Agudelo was adjudged to have handled the ball. Uthai go into half-time with a deserved lead.
Into the second half and the home team exert more pressure and in the 54th minute Santos is at it again. Australian midfielder Terry Antonis chips a pass into the danger area and the striker gets the 1st touch, slipping the ball past the keeper. It's 2 : 0 to the home team and there's no sign Chiang Rai will get anything from this game. Their strikers are ineffective, the Uthai keeper happy to handle long balls into the box. It only remains for them to be put out of their misery and the game is dead as James Beresford is put free on the right slipping the ball to Thailand's Ben Davis who lifts the ball into the roof of the net for 3 : 0 the final score. It's a long way back to Chiang Rai from here and a long way back for the team in this league if they don't improve.
