The Thai Premier League game between Rayong FC and Nakhon Ratchasima FC kicks off at 7pm. Both teams were promoted to the Premier of TPL1 for this season. Nakhon Ratchasima FC though, spent only one season in League 2 having been demoted the previous year. Nakhon Ratchasima come into this game undefeated while Rayong have won only one game. At kick-off the home team is well supported and both teams look to be playing attacking football. However, not long into the first period the frailties of Thailand's power grid Results in the failure of the floodlights. The teams won't settle this way but surprisingly Nakhon Ratchasima take the lead through their star striker Dennis Murillo who controls a long ball, shrugs off a defender and fires over the Rayong keeper into the net. Apart from this there are few chances created by either team in the first half but the away team in front at halftime.
At halftime the power issues continue as the floodlights are off again possibly to conserve power but the second half resumes without further issue. The half starts with the home team continuing to show a lack of composure and control but finally there is a spark as Nakhon Ratchasima are put under real pressure as their goalkeeper pulls off a string of saves but finally they crack. A wonderful free kick from the right finds the defenders with their backs to goal and Dennis the 'Menace' turns hero to zero as his attempted clearance finds to the back of his own net. Can Rayong kick on from here? In the closing stages the game becomes more frantic as both teams miss chances to win the game. However, in the process The game becomes marred with evil intent it's no surprise that in the 89th minute the referee shows red with Frenchman Greg Houle sent off for a reckless tackle. Now is there time for Rayong to grab a winner? Well, it's not to be as the away team hang on. The honours are shared and the result suites neither team but Nakhon Ratchasima will regard themselves rather fortunate as they head home up the Mittraphap Road. The resukt leaves Nakhon Ratchasima 5th with Rayong 11th.
