Wat Trai Phum, situated on Phetcharat Road, features a Buddha image called Phra Phuttha Maha Thammaracha, a Phetchabun-forged, bejeweled Buddha image cast in the Lop Buri style. This Dhammaraja Buddha image enshrined at Wat Trai Phum is an important symbol of Petchabun Province according to legend. Villagers discovered this Buddha image floating in the Pasak River. They immediately pulled it out and placed it on an altar at Wat Trai Phum. One day the image disappeared from the temple and a few days later it re-appeared in the Pasak River. After it was pulled out of the river, Petchabun people decided to hold an annual bathing ceremony (Um Phra Dam Nam). Once a year the image will be paraded around town to the Pasak River and the Petchabun governor will place the image in the river where it was found before taking it back to the temple.
