Wat Nong Bua is located in Nong Bua village in Tha Wang Pha district. It is best reached from the town of Tha Wang Pha, crossing over the Nan River. It was built in 1862 AD. by Tai Lue craftsmen who had migrated from southern China. Apart from the vihara (Buddhist monastery) which is adorned with elaborate carvings, there are also wall murals painted by Tai Lue artists some one hundred years ago. Their artistic value and degree of perfection, equal those at Wat Phumin. The temple also houses the cultural centre and gardens. Opening hours are 7am-6pm.
